Barbara Strozzi: La virtuosissima cantatrice

The Belgian early music ensemble Hathor Consort, conducted by Romina Lischka, has dedicated itself to Renaissance and Baroque music for many years, with a string ensemble of violas as the centrepiece. Together with sopranos Dorothee Mields and Hana Blažíková, they present a new programme highlighting one of the most important female composers in music history: the Venetian Barbara Strozzi. The cantate, ariette and duetti she composed require both technical virtuosity and emotional depth. This concert offers a superb opportunity to discover Strozzi's vocal works.
