Art education and cultural experience in a school or group context have always been important to Bozar. They provide young people and children with a creative capital and stimulate innovative and enterprising thinking. These are skills of inestimable value in a complex world that is constantly bringing new challenges.
In our cooperation and projects with schools, both primary and secondary, acquiring knowledge is a pleasure and learning and interaction go hand-in-hand. Connections between eras and artistic disciplines are revealed. Artists and art movements are brought right up to date and linked to the environment, identity and emotions of the children.
Powers of observation, creativity and dialogue are central to our approach in which the young people themselves become active forces in every guided tour or performance. With the emphasis on a multitude of viewpoints, and through the medium of art, pupils are encouraged to develop a critical approach and to appreciate that the society in which they live is a complex one.
Bozar works with a wide range of artistic partners and education professionals, such as Jeugd en Muziek Brussel, Jeunesses Musicales de Bruxelles, the Belgian National Orchestra, Zonzo Compagnie, and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Liege.
