An Uprising of Dreams

This year's Afropolitan Festival – An Uprising of Dreams invites you to a multidisciplinary artistic and political reflection around the theme 'dream and deed’. Four days of artistic events to collectively reclaim our right to dream! Together with the many artists, thinkers and performers of the Afropolitan Festival, we will repossess our dreams as creative power or just as space for rest.

With a focus on Belgian creativity, the transversal programme consists of engaging talks, inspiring screenings, musical tours and innovative activities, such as the new digital media art platform Bozar Arcade that bridges traditional art forms and digital stories through artistic video games. Listen to the presentation of Sibo Kanobana's new book WItte Orde, discover a Close-up of Rosine Mbakam's work and be embraced by musical delights by artists Dushime, Laryssa Kim and Pitcho & Musiques Nouvelles, among others.

As part of the nocturne Bozar All Over the P(a)lace, on 29 February we welcome the Envahisseurs collective. They will occupy all corners and halls of the palace with dance, film, debate, text and music until the late hours.
