2019

This year, Ars Musica celebrates its 30th anniversary. A major event on the international scene, this illustrious festival of contemporary music has remained at the cutting edge of creativity. Ars Musica is drawing on the different aesthetic currents of our time to present an increasingly rich selection. It will be celebrating its anniversary edition at BOZAR with four concerts designed to offer a variety of musical pleasures.

There will be chamber music, with the legendary Kronos Quartet, who will be performing works specially rewritten for them by Glass and Riley. It will also include piano music at its best, with the new keyboard revelation, Xenia Pestova. Symphony music will be of course represented with two universally renowned orchestras: The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Liège and Musiques Nouvelles will be revealing creations and works commissioned by the Festival.

From Glass to Bartholomée, on to Dutilleux, Reich, Cage, Boesmans, Lockwood and many others, now more than ever Ars Musica bears witness to the wealth of contemporary classical music. An anniversary edition that is not to be missed!
