SIMM-posium 2025

2025-2026

10th Research Symposium on Social Impact of Making Music

Every year since 2015, the international research platform SIMM (Social Impact of Music Making) has brought together experts from the fields of musical practice and research. The 10th SIMM-posium will again be hosted at Bozar, this time in a close collaboration with Chair Jonet/CESAMM of the University of Ghent. It will feature presentations, thematic panels and a keynote, exploring the social impact of participatory music-making across a wide range of cultural contexts and countries. The keynote speaker will be Professor Lee Higgins, director of the International Centre for Community Music, York St John University. Delegates are warmly encouraged to join in person in Brussels, even though online presentations will also be accommodated where necessary, and the event will be live-streamed.
